Sonic Fanboy Quiz

"Lovely. Absolutely lovely."

submission: Sonic Fanboy Quiz
date: September 6, 2009

This has to be one of the finest quizzes I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Most definitely the greatest of the video game genre.

I liked how you could select various pieces of music to play, although personally I chose to play without. I also liked how the backgrounds changed after every five questions. It would have certainly been stale if you'd used the same background throughout the entire quiz.

Amazingly I was able to guess the majority of the questions correctly first time. But there were a few where I could not do this, such as the questions regarding cheat codes. It's simple enough for these answers to be found via the use of a search engine though if one chooses to do so. Questions 11 and 12 seemed far too easy for this stage of the game. Perhaps these would have been better placed amongst the opening five. All of the questions most definitely had the right answers. There's no doubt about that.

I'm pleased I managed to play this through to the end, as the Sonic-related animation which I received as a reward for my doing so was most spectacular.

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

The order kinda went from first to more recent games as I was doing research on the franchise.

Happy birthday Afro_Stud!

"Afro_Stud is American?????????? :O"

date: September 6, 2009

So three years ago Afro_Stud had an American accent. He's certainly lost it completely now! This was a most excellent birthday flash for Afro_Stud although I'm sure he wasn't pleased with the present you gave him within the flash itself!

Looking back at one of your older flashes it's great to see how much you've improved in terms of graphics, animation and storylines. It would certainly be interesting to see how different this flash would be if you were to remake it today.

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

"Ah, the classic Whistle FAQ."

date: September 6, 2009

I remember having seen quite a few submissions of the whistle FAQ. One of them even got flagged despite breaking no rules!

Again I was shocked by both the Speakonia and the fact that there was a little animation. Although after having watched the previous one, this really shouldn't have been that much of a shock. It was rather boring sitting through the entire whistle rules, but I'm pleased that I did as you included a rant to listen to at the end.

While Speakonia may not be as good as voice-acting it certainly adds a touch of humour due to words being mispronounced.

A couple of problems I noticed with this was that the music ended before the whistle FAQ had been read in its entirety and the text was cut off in the preloader again. These two things didn't stop the flash from being most excellent though!

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

September 6, 2009

Author's Response:

I had very very little to no AS skills (and I still have very little now) back then and could have done with a skip option. However, the ability to not is an advantage since any flaggers back then would have to watch through it, lol.

Eh, didn't notice that mistake.

"More Speakonia!"

date: September 6, 2009

Another thouroughly enjoyable flash as is to be expected from you. It's been a while since I've seen that intro and it's nice to see it again as it's such a classic. I noticed some of the text was cut off by the play button in the preloader though.

I was a little shocked to see a little bit of animation after the intro as I was expecting this to just be one frame and music like the Hitler series. I was even more shocked when I heard you speaking in Speakonia! I've gotten so used to your warm, soothing scouse accent by now.

You had quite a lot to say so it was nice that you included some small events taking place in the background so that the flash wouldn't be too boring. I also noticed the old level 14 pipe as a picture in the background, so I'm guessing this was your level icon at the time.

You mentioned that ebaumsworld was one of the best two websites, but I could have sworn you already listed it in that long list of websites that suck. ;)

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

Author's Response:

Oh yeah, I was old level 14 back then. Ah, memories. But yeah, I have my own twists in these spinoffs. :)

13th - GOATSE

"Wow! Speakonia!"

submission: 13th - GOATSE
date: September 6, 2009

It's certainly a strange feeling to be looking back through some of your older flashes and hearing Speakonia. It was only for the one character though, which seemed a little unusual. Definitely not the voice I'm used to hearing for Graham!

While the flash was short it was most excellent, executing its one joke to perfection. I don't really think it got across the message of bad luck very well as it was more of a practical joke. It would have been nice to see a few more misfortunate events happen to Graham, but then there's always your other flashes for that.

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

September 6, 2009

Author's Response:

This was just the beginning and a warm-up for the later misfortunes on Graham. :)

The Very Best of Bahamut

"Ah, Nostalgia."

date: August 26, 2008

Watching this flash brought back memories of all your past flashes. There was also a flash or two in there of yours I haven't seen. I feel ashamed to call myself a Bahamut fan!

The best of clips were put together in a sequence that gelled together very well and Graham made me smile as always. Hopefully you will continue to make many more flashes over the next few years, allowing for even more best of flashes.

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

Author's Response:

But first, I must work on my 100th flash. I'm pretty sure you'll love it more than you love all my other flashes.

"The epic battle is finally over!"

date: August 26, 2008

I'm surprised that both Mario and Sonic had managed to survive without food, drink and sleep for three years whilst they were battling. A wonderful ending to a marvellous battle. I wouldn't have had it any other way! What was that exploding guy supposed to be though?

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

Bahamut's Favourite PMs

"The largest mouse in the world returns!"

date: June 22, 2008

That mouse really needs to be involved in a major storyline if it's going to keep cropping up like this. Oh wait, you hate getting ideas for flashes! >_<

It was nice to see 33 in the background. I remember that from one of your older flashes. :)

It sure is a good thing that those W's still stretch the page. Let's hope it stays that way!

lol at bluesundew's PM. Some people sure can be stupid.

Again, like with the reviews flash, I felt that you could have included more. I'm sure there are plenty of absolutely hilarious PMs you've received which you could have shared with us all.

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

June 22, 2008

Author's Response:

I had a few more PMs to show, but felt there were enough here.

Thanks again Rebecca. :)

Bahamut's Fav. Reviews

"Epic."

date: June 22, 2008

What an insanely large mouse you have for your laptop. Surely it's a contender for the world's largest mouse?

Thank goodness you could skip the speakonia in this flash. I'd have hated to sit through the complete recitals of those particularly long reviews.

I was delighted to see that you included one of MAYORMCHEESE's reviews. He is by far the best reviewer on Newgrounds. However, when you said that Afro_Stud wished this flash was nothing but his reviews, it sounded a bit like he wanted his own reviews in the flash as opposed to MAYORMCHEESE's, perhaps this could have been worded differently in order to make it clear.

Yay for me being your favourite reviewer. ^___^

I feel really bad about giving you that 0! I should have given you a 10. ;_;

I'd have liked to have seen you talking about a few more reviews in this flash. There didn't seem to be much focus on low-scoring, abusive reviews, which are always the most fun to read.

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

That would have been so if many reviews for my quizzes disappear. Oh well, there were some of them on the bonus scene.

Thanks RebeccaRose! :D

Graham Loves Goatse

"What an amazing song!"

date: May 29, 2008

What an excellent way to start a flash. Afro_Stud's 'Ant-Arct-Ic-A' is by far the greatest tune I have ever heard and it's about time someone included it in a flash! Hopefully you'll use many more songs by him in the future. I'd love to see one using 'Daisy Bell', he sure has a magnificent singing voice! This movie was a little on the short side, but it's nice to see that you're capable of producing short, enjoyable flashes as well as your usual longer ones. I feel kind of sorry for Graham not getting the goatse movie he so desires. :(

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

May 29, 2008

Author's Response:

Daisy Bell will have to appear on a flash of mine sometime, but first, I need to think where and when it should be used.

Thanks RebeccaRose! :)
